The IBA Test, like many other aptitude tests, is designed to test a candidate’s stamina especially under pressure. The test consists of two sections: English and Math.
The total time for to attempt this test is about 2 hours and as of the past couple of years, IBA has removed its policy of negative marking.
- The English Section consists of 45 questions from the following areas

  • Grammar
  • Vocabulary
  • Critical Reading
  • Comprehensions
You are allotted a total of 50 mins to attempt these questions
- The Math Section is relatively lengthier and consists of 50 question from the following areas:
  • Number
  • Sets and Notations
  • Functions
  • Decimal, Fractions and Percentages
  • Ordering
  • Estimation
  • Ratios and Proportion
  • Graphs
  • Algebraic Manipulations
  • Geometry
  • Statistics
  • Probability
  • Vectors
You are allotted a total of 75 mins to attempt this section

To clear the IBA test, the candidate is required to meet the cut off for both of these sections and also the total cut off in order to qualify for the interview. The cut off is different each year and is dependent on the difficulty of the paper and the average performance of candidates in the particular year. The cut off also determines the number of students that clear the test for a certain degree. For instance, the total cut off for a BSSS program is lower than that of the BBA program. Once the candidate clears the interview, they are then offered the admission letter for the program they applied for.
